PIA JARRELL
Der «Rohstoff» für meine künstlerischen Arbeiten sind Fotokopien von Partiturseiten aus dem Papiermüll. Die Notenlinien und Takte betrachte ich als horizontale und vertikale Linien auf einer Flâche, die Noten als Punkte, deren Verdichtungen eine graphische Energie auf dieser Fläche ausdrücken.
Eine Partiturseite beinhaltet sowohl graphische als auch akkustische Informationen. Ich bin überzeugt, dass diese beiden Elemente ein intime Verbindung zueinander haben. Diese versuche ich aufzuspüren und zu reflektieren.
The raw materials of my artwork are photocopied pages of scores, which I recycle. For me, staves and measures are vertical and horizontal lines that intersect and divide the surface. Noteheads are points and their densification express visible energy.
A score page expresses both graphics and sound information. I am convinced that these two elements are closely related and that is what I try to sense and reflect.
Les matières premières de mon travail artistique sont des photocopies de partitions récupérées. Les portées et les mesures sont pour moi des lignes verticales et horizontales.
Les têtes des notes sont des points et la concentration de ceux-ci exprime une énergie visible.
Une page de partition contient à la fois des informations graphiques et sonores. Je suis persuadée que ces deux éléments sont intimement liés. C'est ce lien que j'explore dans mon travail.
